ÌýÌýResources

ÌýÌýHomework

  • Mentee (optional for Mentor): Find 1–2 current job postings that you might be interested in after graduation. These are for practice only – you don't need to find the "perfect" job. Choose postings that are interesting to you and provide enough detail to practice tailoring your resume. If participating, the mentor should also share what they found with the mentee.
  • Mentee: Choose one of the job postings and tailor your resume to the position by incorporating relevant keywords, action verbs, and highlighting the experiences, skills, and accomplishments that best align with the posting. Share your revised resume with your mentor for feedback.

ÌýÌýDiscussion

  • Discuss the mentee’s resume and provide constructive feedback.
    • Why did you choose this job posting? What aspects of the role or organization appeal to you?
    • How did you tailor your resume for this position? What changes did you make and why?
    • If you were the hiring manager, what strengths would stand out from this resume? What questions might you have after reading it?
    • Based on this exercise, what is one improvement you would like to make to your resume before applying for future positions?
  • Together, outline the key points for a tailored cover letter that complements (rather than repeats) the resume.
  • Note: Please keep the job posting info and tailored resume. You may use it in a future module.
