Disability Services Portal Transition

Disability Services is continuing the transition to AIM, our student-facing accommodation management system. As we complete this transition, you may notice updates to our website and processes. Thank you for your patience during this period.

Please use AIM for your accommodation-related needs. If you have questions or need assistance during this transition, please contact your Access Coordinator or the Disability Services front office at dsinfo@colorado.eduÌý(303-492-8671). Please do not attempt to log in to the previous accommodation management system, Accommodate Portal.

With AIM, students can:

  • Manage accommodation letters
  • Submit accommodation requests
  • Request appointments with their Access Coordinator after completing the registration process
  • Access accommodation-related services and resources

Real-time Captioning Services

Real-time captioning provides an instant translation of spoken English into written English text that is displayed on a laptop monitor, tablet, or cell phone.ÌýThis allows the student to read what is being said during a class session; both lecture and discussion.ÌýA captionist can also perform remotely by receiving an audio signal from the room and relaying the captioned text back to the student’s mobile device.

Real-time captioning services are scheduled by Disability Services upon request from the student approved for the accommodation.ÌýA student with a real-time captioning accommodation will first submitÌýtheÌýÌýto Disability Services in order to initiate a request.ÌýDisability Services will then follow up with the student regarding their request. If a student submits a request directly to an instructor of the course, the instructor should forward the request to dscommaccess@colorado.edu with the student’s name and contact information.

The captioning service provider attending the class (remotely or in-person) may need to work directly with the instructor and Disability Services to gain access to the course materials and become familiar with course content.ÌýAll assignments and course-related information will be kept confidential.ÌýDisability Services covers the cost of real-time captioning services for students approved for the accommodation.
