Disability Services Portal Transition
Disability Services is continuing the transition to AIM, our student-facing accommodation management system. As we complete this transition, you may notice updates to our website and processes. Thank you for your patience during this period.
Please use AIM for your accommodation-related needs. If you have questions or need assistance during this transition, please contact your Access Coordinator or the Disability Services front office at dsinfo@colorado.eduÌý(303-492-8671). Please do not attempt to log in to the previous accommodation management system, Accommodate Portal.
With AIM, students can:
- Manage accommodation letters
- Submit accommodation requests
- Request appointments with their Access Coordinator after completing the registration process
- Access accommodation-related services and resources
Flexibility with Attendance and Assignment Deadlines Plan (Flex Plan)

Faculty have the right to establish attendance, assignment deadline, and examination policies for their courses. However, some students have disabilities that are episodic in nature and may occasionally affect their ability to attend class or complete exams, quizzes, or assignments as scheduled. In these situations, flexibility with attendance, assignment deadlines, or exam scheduling may be an appropriate accommodation.
The amount of flexibility available varies by course and depends on factors such as the interactive or participatory nature of the course, essential learning objectives, and any department, college, or accrediting agency requirements. As a result, the number of allowable disability-related absences and the length of extensions for exams, quizzes, or short-term assignments are determined on a course-by-course basis.
The Flex Plan accommodation provides a reasonable modification, where appropriate, to course attendance expectations, disability-related absences on the day of an exam or quiz, and short-term assignment deadlines. It is not intended to waive attendance requirements or assignment deadlines. Students are expected and encouraged to attend class regularly, complete coursework by established deadlines whenever possible, and communicate with their instructors when disability-related circumstances affect their ability to meet course expectations.
