Hoffman Scholars Program

Named after University of ĢӰ President Elizabeth Hoffman, who adopted the phrase, “The University Without Walls,” to capture her vision for ĢӰ,the Hoffman Scholars program is an endowed fund thatgives undergraduate & graduate students the opportunity to accompany mentors at the Center for the American West to forums and conferences that provide a close-up glimpse of current and often controversial Western American issues. Past Hoffman scholars have presented at the American Association of Geographers about our Indigenous Connections at Rocky Mountain National Park, visitedto Wyoming’s Powder River Basin to explore split-estate issues, attended a Bureau of Land Management public affairs conference in New Mexico, and so much more. Students’ travel expenses and registration fees are fully covered by the fund.
