From Vice Chancellor Mull: Welcome to a milestone year at Ä¢¹½Ó°Òô Boulder

Vice Chancellor for Student Life Dr. D’Andra Mull

Hi Buff families,ÌýÌý

Welcome to a new academic year at Ä¢¹½Ó°Òô Boulder! Whether your student is beginning their first semester or returning for another year, I am delighted to welcome you and your family to our Buff community.Ìý

This year is particularly meaningful as Ä¢¹½Ó°Òô Boulder celebrates its 150th anniversary. For a century and a half, students have come to this university to learn, discover new passions, build lifelong friendships and prepare to make a difference in the world. We are grateful that your student has chosen to be part of this community and that your family is joining us as we celebrate this important milestone.Ìý

Supporting your student's successÌý

College is about much more than earning a degree. It is a time for students to discover their interests, develop new skills, build meaningful relationships, and grow in confidence and independence.Ìý

Every student gets to experience college for themselves and that is one of the greatest strengths of a vibrant university community. Whether your student decides to enrich their journey by joining or starting an organization, taking on a leadership role, pursuing research, working on campus or volunteering in the community, these experiences help shape their education and prepare them for life after graduation.Ìý

Families play an important role in this journey. Your encouragement, support and conversations can help your student navigate new experiences, find opportunities that are meaningful to them and make the most of their time at Ä¢¹½Ó°Òô Boulder. One of the greatest gifts you can give your student is the space and encouragement to discover their own path.Ìý

Celebrating 150 years togetherÌý

Throughout the year, our campus community will come together to celebrate Ä¢¹½Ó°Òô Boulder’s 150th anniversary through events and traditions that honor our history and look toward our future. One event I hope your student will consider attending is the Buffs Long Table, where students, faculty and staff gather around a shared meal to connect, build relationships and engage in meaningful conversation.Ìý

Experiences like these are an important part of the college journey. They give students opportunities to meet people they may not otherwise encounter, find a greater sense of belonging and become part of the traditions that make Ä¢¹½Ó°Òô Boulder such a special community. I encourage you to talk with your student about ways they can get involved and make the most of the many opportunities available to them this year.Ìý

Student Life is here to helpÌý

The entire Division of Student Life is committed to supporting, championing and empowering students throughout their college experience. More than 1,100 dedicated staff members across 35 departments provide programs, services and resources that support student well-being, leadership, involvement, career readiness and personal growth. Our goal is to help every student thrive both inside and outside the classroom and make the most of their experience at Ä¢¹½Ó°Òô Boulder.Ìý

As your student begins another semester, I encourage you to remind them that they do not have to navigate their college experience alone. Whether they have a question, are looking for ways to get involved, need support or simply want to connect with someone, our staff are here to listen, help them find their way and connect them with the people and resources that can support their goals.Ìý

Thank you for partnering with usÌý

Thank you for entrusting Ä¢¹½Ó°Òô Boulder with your student's education and college experience. We value the partnership we share with families and appreciate the many ways you encourage your student throughout the year.Ìý

I wish your family a wonderful semester, and I look forward to all that our students will accomplish during this milestone year.Ìý

Warmly,Ìý

Dr. D'Andra MullÌý
