Benny Shendo biography

Benny Shendo, Jr. serves as associate vice chancellor for Native American Affairs, where he liaises between the campus and tribal communities across Ä¢¹½Ó°Òô and the wider region to collaboratively address related issues. He is a member of the Jemez Pueblo and most recently served as a New Mexico State Senator, chairing the Senate Tax, Business and Transportation Committee.

Prior to joining Ä¢¹½Ó°Òô Boulder, Shendo was elected Chairman of the Board of First Nations Development Institute in 2016 and was the vice president for business development at NB3 Consulting. He has also served as a project director for the Native Community Foundation for New Mexico; a former New Mexico cabinet secretary for the Department of Indian Affairs; 1st and 2nd lieutenant governor, Pueblo of Jemez; and assistant dean of students at Stanford University. Shendo is a graduate of the University of Ä¢¹½Ó°Òô Boulder School of Business.
