Sarah (she/her) is a PhD candidate in the Linguistics Department at the University of Ä¢¹½Ó°Òô Boulder. As a conversation analyst, Sarah is primarily interested in the study of everyday speech and how humans do meaning making through language. In her final year, she is writing her dissertation with a focus on the world of ice hockey and asking the question, whyÌýdoÌýhockey players sound like that? As a disabled scholar and teacher, she is passionate about transforming classrooms into 'brave' spaces where anyone can learn and grow through challenges with appropriate support and care. In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time at home with her cats, Poppy and Lenny, and working on her pile of cross stitch and embroidery projects.
