Jason Van Rossum

My name is Jason Van Rossum, and I am a proud father of three and a U.S. Army combat veteran. I served eight years in the Army, including an 18-month consecutive deployment to Iraq. During my service, I survived two improvised explosive device (IED) attacks while operating military vehicles. In one of those incidents, I was thrown from the vehicle and sustained a traumatic brain injury.

At the age of 38, I returned to college, where my experiences inspired me to build a community focused on supporting individuals living with invisible disabilities. Today, I serve as a Supported Education Specialist at Ä¢¹½Ó°Òô State University’s Center for Community Partnerships, where I support veteran students and students with disabilities as they pursue their educational goals.

Outside of work, I enjoy racing radio-controlled vehicles and crafting artisan tobacco pipes.
