EmmaÌýBornheimer

Emma (she/her) is a fifth year Linguistics PhD student. As a sociolinguist, she’s interested in the intersection of language with social identities, and her work focuses on online discourse and conversation analysis. Particularly, how people use language to change others’ minds. How does one take on the project of adjusting someone else’s preconceived notions about something? Along with her studies, Emma spends time writing music, upcycling clothes and playing upright bass in an all ladies bluegrass band!
